MacBook Pro 13 and 15-inch get a spec bump

 

Apple has updated the specifications of the 13-inch MacBook Pro and 15-inch MacBook Pro.The Intel Haswell processors have all been upgraded to a faster chip version. The 13-inch models all come with 8GB RAM as standard and the 15-inch models all come with 16GB RAM as standard.

In a press release Apple said:

“People love their MacBook Pro because of the thin and light, aluminum unibody design, beautiful Retina display, all day battery life and deep integration with OS X,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “The MacBook Pro with Retina display gets even better with faster processors, more memory, more affordable configurations and a free upgrade to OS X Yosemite this fall.”

The new specs are:

13-inch: 
– £999  / $1299: 2.6 GHz dual-core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB flash storage 
– £1199 / $1499: 2.6 GHz dual-core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB flash storage 
– £1399 / $1799: 2.8 GHz dual-core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 512GB flash storage 

15-inch: 
– £1599  / $1999: 2.2 GHz quad-core i7 processor, 16GB RAM, 256GB flash storage 
– £1,999 / $2499: 2.5 GHz quad-core i7 processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB flash storage
